Here’s a story a friend sent me from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
I’d like to hear what you think. I mean, is it proper? Legal?
A Muslim woman says she was given a choice at Caesars Atlantic City recemtly: take off the traditional face covering that only shows her eyes or leave the casino.
Tanya Grooms-Butler says she was waiting in a casino restaurant at Caesar’s Atlantic City while her husband was gambling, when she was given an ultimatum by security guards.
Grooms-Butler says the security guard never explained why she’d have to make that choice, but the casino tells a different story, according to a report on Fox News, Philadelphia.
The casino issued a statement saying that security is of the utmost concern, if they can’t see someone’s face clearly they must be able to provide some sort of identification to prove they are 21 years or older.
Grooms-Butler maintains she was embarrassed by the whole incident and she was offended by the casino’s actions.
But she also concedes there are places where covering her face, even if for religious reasons is not appropriate.
Grooms-Butler says she was embarrassed and won’t be going back.
You think she should sue the casino?
What would YOU do?
