A selection of recent events, anonymised out of respect for our clients. Names change; the pattern doesn't — clear planning, warm hosting, and evenings people remember.

Year-End Reception for a Financial Services Firm

The brief asked for "an evening that doesn't feel like a work function." We produced a six-table floor — two roulette, three blackjack, one poker — woven between the venue's existing lounge zones so play felt discovered rather than staged.

Guests received personalised chip wallets at the door. The closing awards moment crowned a "Table Champion" from the graduate intake, which the CEO called the highlight of the night. The program remained an elegant social experience throughout — symbolic chips kept the competition light and fun.

Team Building 64 guests

Quarterly Offsite for an Engineering Consultancy

Eight teams of eight rotated through four stations in timed 25-minute rounds. Each round opened with a two-minute teach from the host, so every player — including several who had never touched a card game — contributed to their team's score.

Group scoring rewarded collaboration over individual streaks: teams earned extra points for coaching teammates and for calling their strategy before each round. The format ran 2.5 hours and ended with a leaderboard ceremony over dessert.

A 50th Birthday in a Karori Family Home

Two tables — roulette and blackjack — set up in an open-plan lounge while the family was out at dinner. Guests arrived to a transformed room: low lighting, personalised chip stacks, and a host in place at each table.

The evening closed with a playoff hand for the top of the leaderboard, settled to loud applause and zero money. Setup took 55 minutes; pack-down was done by midnight, and the lounge was back to normal before the last guests left.

Executive Hospitality Evening in Thorndon

A director hosting international partners wanted something memorable but unmistakably appropriate. We styled a single poker table into the venue's private lounge with premium finishes and a dedicated concierge managing arrivals and pacing.

The symbolic-chip format meant compliance sign-off was straightforward for every guest's organisation. Play paused naturally for a seated dinner and resumed over coffee — the table emptied only when the venue closed.

Charity Gala 240 guests

Gala Dinner Entertainment for a Regional Charity

Our largest event of last year: four entertainment stations flanking a 240-seat gala dinner. Tables opened between courses and after the formal programme, giving guests a reason to linger — and the organisers a longer, livelier evening.

Everything stayed strictly entertainment-only: symbolic chips, a points leaderboard, and small donated keepsakes for the top tables arranged by the charity itself. The organisers rebooked for this year before pack-down finished.

Product Launch 95 guests

Branded Launch Party for a Technology Company

Full branding treatment: chips carrying the product logo, table signage in launch colours, and a photo zone built around the campaign artwork. Three tables ran in rotation alongside demos of the product itself.

The branded chips doubled as keepsakes — guests took them home, and photos of them circulated on the client's internal channels for weeks. The marketing team measured the launch as their best-attended evening event to date.
